You are eligible to enter the 3 Rivers Screenwriters Conference’s PITCH COMPETITION
when you purchase a full Conference Badge or Sunday (May 22) Day Pass (Student/EBT or Regular Admission). Each ticket purchased grants ONE free submission.
– SUBMISSIONS –
Upon purchasing your qualifying ticket, you will receive instructions on how to email your logline to the pitch competition’s selection committee. Additional loglines can be purchased on the conference’s website at http://3rsconference.com/register. Loglines will be due by 11:59PM EST on SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2016. NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED!
– BIG ANNOUNCE! –
The top 10 loglines will be announced at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center
on SUNDAY, MAY 22 at 9:00 AM.
– JUDGING PANELS –
Those 10 Writers will Pitch Live to the following Panel of Experts:
Alvaro Rodriguez, Screenwriter of Machete, Kim Waltrip, Producer of the Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby and Hit and Run and Lisa Minzey, Owner & Writer of the blog, The Reel Critic, and reader for Austin Film Festival’s highly competitive screenwriting competition.
The Writers of the Top 3 Pitches will then Go On to Pitch at 3RSC’s Closing Session to:
Laura Harkcom, Emmy-nominated television producer for the SyFy Channel and acting VP and Script Consultant for NBC/Universal. Laura’s past clients include Warner Bros., Dreamworks and Walt Disney Studios. Christopher Lockhart, Story Editor at WME Entertainment, the world’s largest talent agency. Christopher reads scripts for Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, Liam Neeson, Robert Downey Jr. and Rachel McAdams. Ashley Edward Miller, Writer and producer of hit movies & television shows: X-Men: First Class, Thor, Fringe, Power Rangers, Andromeda and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Laura, Christopher and Ashley will determine the winners by analyzing the top three pitches, giving feedback and discussing with the audience what makes for a successful pitch. Everyone will have the opportunity to observe what works and what doesn’t.
– PRIZES –
All three winners will receive digital copies of Final Draft 9 and access to a Stage 32 Happy Writers’ Pitching Session. First and Second Place Winners will receive one free month on the Black List as well as a Black List script evaluation. The First Place Winner will have their script read* and analyzed by Christopher Lockhart. Christopher will meet with the winner in person or via Skype for story review and career advice. Additional prizes will be announced at the time of the ceremony. *All scripts to Mr. Lockhart et other readers must be submitted by August 31, 2016.
– RULES –
Participants must be present on May 22nd to pitch and to accept their prize. If someone does not show up when the 10 logline winners are announced at 9:00 AM, then the next best logline on the list will be chosen and that attendee will be able to pitch and win a prize and so on.
